STEERING COLUMN: HEATED STEERING WHEEL CONTROLLER: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH See: Starting and Charging/Charging System/Alternator/Service and Repair/Removal
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt
pretensioner activation.
NOTE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and
settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery
terminal.

3. REMOVE SWITCH AND VOLUME CASE See: Steering Wheel/Removal
4. REMOVE NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER See: Steering Wheel/Removal
5. REMOVE STEERING PAD ASSEMBLY See: Steering Wheel/Removal
6. REMOVE HEATED STEERING WHEEL CONTROLLER

(a) Disconnect the 2 connectors and remove the 2 screws and controller.

Installation

STEERING COLUMN: HEATED STEERING WHEEL CONTROLLER: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL HEATED STEERING WHEEL CONTROLLER

(a) Install the controller with the 2 screws and connect the 2 connectors.

2. INSTALL STEERING PAD ASSEMBLY See: Steering Wheel/Installation
3. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER See: Steering Wheel/Installation
4. INSTALL SWITCH AND VOLUME CASE See: Steering Wheel/Installation
5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
6. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH See: Starting and Charging/Charging System/Alternator/Service and Repair/Installation
7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

(a) Perform initialization See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair Instruction - Initialization.

NOTE:
Certain systems need to be initialized after reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
