22. INSPECT TOTAL PRELOAD
(a) Using a torque wrench, measure the preload with the teeth of the drive pinion and ring gear in contact.
Standard Total Preload (at starting):
(a) If necessary, disassemble and inspect the differential.
23. INSPECT TOOTH CONTACT BETWEEN RING GEAR AND DRIVE PINION
(a) Remove the bearing retainer and differential case.
(b) Coat 3 or 4 teeth at 3 different positions on the ring gear with Prussian blue.
