Heater - Discharge Air to Floor Cooler Than Normal

HEATER - DISCHARGE AIR TO FLOOR COOLER THAN AIR FROM INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTERS
LINCOLN-MERCURY 1984 CONTINENTAL AND MARK VII
Discharge heater air to the floor that is cooler than the upper level discharge air after in-car set temperature has been reached may be caused by an
improper mix of air in the plenum. A baffle kit has been released to service this condition.
PROCEDURE:
To service this condition, use the following baffle kit and procedure.
1.
Set the control assembly for MIX and the temperature at 60, then remove the evaporator case assembly as outlined in TSB 84-25-1, dated 12/5/84.
2.
Remove the floor duct (3 screws).

Remove the heater core cover (5 screws) and disengage the wire harness tab from the cover (Figure 11).
4.
Remove the heater core from the evaporator case.
5.
Remove the panel air door from the door shaft (1 screw). Use care not to damage the electric actuator.
