Pressure Plate: Service and Repair

CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the following parts: 

a. Battery and battery tray  See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement

b. Air cleaner component  See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair

c. Wheels, tires and splash shields

d. Plug hole plate  See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Plug Hole Plate

Removal/Installation

e. Aerodynamic undercover No.2  See: Body and Frame/Splash Guard/Service and Repair/Aerodynamic Under Cover No.2 Removal/Installation

f.

Aerodynamic undercover No.1  See: Body and Frame/Splash Guard/Service and Repair/Aerodynamic Under Cover No.1 Removal/Installation

g. Tunnel member  See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Exhaust System/Service and Repair

3. Remove the hanger on the middle pipe side as shown in the figure and set the hanger aside.

4. Remove the steering gear and linkage, and pipe assembly installation bolts from the front crossmember, then suspend the steering gear and linkage

Pipe assembly tightening torque

-

8-10 Nm {80-110 kgf-cm, 70-95 in-lbf}

5. Drain the transaxle oil into a suitable container.

WARNING:

-

Improperly jacking a transaxle is dangerous. It can slip off the jack and may cause serious injury.

6. Remove the manual transaxle.  See: Manual Transmission/Transaxle/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Manual Transaxle

7. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

8. Install in the reverse order removal.

9. Add the specified amount of specified transaxle oil.  See: Manual Transmission/Transaxle/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Transaxle Oil Replacement - G66M-R

NOTE:

-

If the transaxle is overhauled and installed to the vehicle, perform the 'INSPECTION AFTER TRANSAXLE INSTALLATION' and verify that
