Reason for Program

The cylinder head gasket in your vehicle may fail prematurely. Should this occur, it could result in oil leakage between the cylinder head and block
or to the coolant passages at the high pressure oil feed hole.

Program Features

The Program consists of the following two plans and goes into effect on February 14, 1986.

2-1. Warranty Extension Plan

The warranty period for the cylinder head gasket of your vehicle is extended to 5 years or 60,000 miles of operation from the earlier date of either
first use or retail delivery of the vehicle, whichever occurs first. Engine damage resulting from premature failure of the cylinder head gasket will be
repaired by any authorized Mazda Dealer at Mazda's expense within this time/mileage limitation. Therefore, should your vehicle experience
premature failure of the cylinder head gasket please make arrangements with any authorized Mazda Dealer to have it repaired. We suggest that for
future reference you retain this letter in the glove compartment of your vehicle.

2-2. Reimbursement Plan

If repairs for premature failure of the cylinder head gasket have been already performed at your expense at an authorized Mazda Dealer or a
licensed repair shop within 5 years or 60,000 miles of operation from the earlier date of either first use or retail delivery of the vehicle, whichever
occurs first, Mazda will reimburse you for the reasonable amount out of the repair costs for which you paid based on Mazda's repair standard. The
detailed requirements for the reimbursement are shown on the separate sheet. To receive the reimbursement, you must fill out the enclosed
application form and mail it with a legible copy of the paid repair order or invoice to the designated address, postmarked no later than May 31,
1986.

NOTE:
(1)

Any engine damage resulting from other than premature failure of the cylinder head gasket is not covered by the Program.

(2)

Symptoms of damages resulting from premature failure of the cylinder head gasket are as follows.

Oil leakage between the cylinder head and block.

*

Oil leakage to the coolant passages. (i.e. Oil is detected in the coolant reserve tank.)

If oil leakage is not detected or if it is ignored, this condition could result in inadequate lubrication, possible engine overheating and/or loss of
power. In order to avoid serious engine damage, please check to see if there is oil leakage and/or oil in the coolant reserve tank.

Reimbursement Plan

I Requirements for Reimbursement

If the following requirements are met, you are eligible to receive reimbursement under this reimbursement plan.

1.

You own or have owned a subject vehicle (1984-1985 Mazda 626 equipped with diesel engine).

2.

You have paid for repairs resulting from the premature failure of the cylinder head gasket of the subject vehicle.

3.

The repair has been paid for on or before February 28, 1986.

4.

You have an original or a legible copy of the paid repair order or invoice showing;

A.

description of the repair resulting from the premature failure of the cylinder head gasket of the subject vehicle.

B.

itemized parts and labor charges, C. vehicle model, year and vehicle identification number (chassis number),

D.

earlier date of either first use or retail delivery of the vehicle, E. repair date, F. repair mileage, G. name, address and telephone number of the
authorized Mazda Dealer or licensed repair shop where such repairs were performed.
