Cruise Control: Service Precautions
Audio Anti-Theft System Deactivation
Obtain code number from owner of vehicle, before disconnecting battery
or connectors which supply power to the audio unit. If code number has been input in the unit and forgotten, it cannot be canceled and audio unit will be
inoperative. Deactivate anti-theft operation as follows:
1. Turn ignition switch to ACC position.
2. Press SCAN and AUTO-M buttons simultaneously until bars appear on the display.
3. While bars are displayed, input correct preselected code number using station preset buttons 1, 2, 3 and 4.
4. Press and hold SCAN and AUTO-M buttons until a beep is heard and "CODE" appears on display (approximately 1.5 seconds).
5. If "Err" (error) appears on display, repeat procedure from Step 1. Three consecutive errors will activate anti-theft operation and audio unit
will be completely inoperative.
