All 1998 B-2500 with A/C.
DESCRIPTION
A boom noise may be heard while driving at 2500 - 3000 RPM. This may be caused by the low side A/C hose going into resonance with the engine
vibration. A bracket is now available to hold the low side A/C hose stable during engine vibration.
Customers complaining of this concern should have their vehicle repaired according to the following procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify customer complaint.
2.
Remove approximately 2" of insulation from the low pressure A/C hose next to the front upper compressor bolt as shown.
3.
Tape both ends of the cut insulation with suitable tape to prevent the insulation from peeling back.
