Do not use a hammer to separate the tie rod end from the wheel spindle or damage to the wheel spindle will result.
Caution:

Do not damage the tie-rod end boot when installing the special tool.
5. Using the C-frame and screw SST, separate the outer tie-rod end from the wheel spindle.
6. Use suitable jack to support the front suspension lower arm.
7. Remove and discard the upper ball joint nut and pinch bolt.

Disconnect the upper ball joint from the wheel spindle.
Tightening Torque
63 N-m (6.4 kgf-m, 46 ft-lbf)
8. Remove and discard the lower ball joint cotter pin and nut.
Tightening Torque
133 N-m (13.6 kgf-m, 98 ft-lbf)

Do not use a hammer to separate the ball joint from the wheel spindle or damage to the wheel spindle will result.
Caution:

Do not damage the ball joint boot while installing the special tool.
