Suspension Strut / Shock Absorber: Service and Repair

1.

Loosen the nuts that attach the upper end of the shock absorber to the crossmember.

2.

Remove the rubber bushes and washers.

3.

Loosen the bolts that attach the lower end of the shock absorber to the lower arm.

4.

Remove the shock absorber from under the lower arm, Fig. 1. 

5.

Worn or damaged rubber bushings should be discarded.

6.

Reverse procedure to install.
