Ball Joint: Testing and Inspection
1.
Check upper and lower control arms for cracks, bending or twisting.
2.
Inspect coil springs for damage or fatigue.
3.
Check ball joint dust seal for cuts or damage. Replace, if necessary.
4.
Check endplay of upper and lower ball joint. If endplay exceeds .040 inch, replace ball joint.
