About Mazda

Mazda was founded in 1920 as Toyo Cork Kogyo, a cork maker. Its rotary-powered 787B won the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1991, and Ford was a major shareholder from 1974 until the late 2000s, which is why so many Mazdas have Ford twins.

B2300, B3000 and B4000 (1994–2010) are the Ford Ranger.
Tribute is the Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner.
Navajo is the first-generation two-door Ford Explorer.
MX-6 and 626 share Mazda's G platform with the Ford Probe.
