Throttle Position Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

Adjustment

1. Disconnect the throttle sensor connector.
2. Loosen the two attaching screws.
3. Insert a 0.15 mm (0.06 in) feeler gauge between the stopper and the throttle lever.
4. Connect an ohmmeter to the throttle sensor terminals IDL and GND.
5. Rotate the throttle sensor clockwise approx. 30 degrees, then rotate it back counterclockwise until the continuity exists and tighten the two

attaching screws. (B6 SOHC)
Rotate the throttle sensor counterclockwise approx. 30 degrees, then rotate it back clockwise until the continuity exists and tighten the two
attaching screws. (K8 DOHC)

6. Recheck the inspection of the throttle sensor.

Replacement

1. Disconnect the throttle sensor connector.
2. Remove the throttle sensor attaching screws.
3. Remove the throttle sensor.
4. Install the new throttle sensor.
5. Loosely tighten the two attaching screws.
6. Adjust the throttle sensor.
