Thermostat: Service and Repair

THERMOSTAT AND THERMOSTAT HOUSING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - HYBRID
NOTE: The thermostat and thermostat housing are serviced as an assembly.
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. See See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair/Lifting.
2. Drain the cooling system. See - See: Coolant/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement.
3. Remove the accessory drive belt tensioner. See - See: Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt Tensioner/Service and
Repair.
4. Disconnect the heater hose at the thermostat housing.
