NOTE: After diagnosing/repairing a seat system the restraint system NGS Tester must be removed before operating the vehicle.
NOTE: A repair is made by installing a new part only. If a new pan is installed and the new part does not correct the condition, install the original part
and carry out the diagnostic procedure again.
NOTE: If a side air bag deployment took place, a new seatback pad, trim cover, and side air bag module must be installed. A new seatback frame
should be installed if necessary.
Vehicles with side air bag
WARNING: Inspect the mounting surfaces of the side air bag module and the seat back frame mounting for any foreign objects before
installing the side air bag module. If any foreign objects are found, remove them. Failure to do so may result in personal injury in the event of
an air bag deployment.
WARNING: Inspect the side air bag cavity in the seat back pad for any foreign objects. If any foreign objects are found, remove them. Failure
to do so may result in personal injury in the event of an air bag deployment.
WARNING: Before installing the side air bag module, check the air bag for damage and foreign objects. If any foreign objects are found,
remove them. Failure to do so may result in personal injury in the event of an air beg deployment.
