Switch off easy entry function for driver's seat and steering wheel

Vehicles with memory function.

CAUTION:  Otherwise the driver's seat and steering wheel move to a different position, e.g. when the driver's door is opened or closed.
The upper frame may be damaged when the retainer (055) is installed.

NOTE:  It is switched off using the buttons on the steering wheel in the "Comfort" menu on the multifunction display, see vehicle owner's manual.

Fix steering wheel in center position

Check center position of steering gear and steering wheel

The steering gear is in the center position when the marking on the cap aligns with the marking on the control valve housing (arrows). If
necessary, offset the steering wheel by a maximum of one tooth

Insert wheel spreader (030)

NOTE:  The elastic bearings of the cross strut, torque strut or lower transverse control arm and steering linkage produce a correspondingly large
toe value which is reduced to the correct dimension in the curb condition.

Adjust toe

NOTE:
-

Adjust toe by slackening the lock nut (10f) and twisting the tie rods (10).

Check that the CV boot is not twisted after adjusting the toe.
