- with CODE (581) Convenience automatic air conditioning

DANGER:

Risk of explosion from electrolytic gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury with
caustic burns to eyes and skin from battery electrolyte or from handling damaged lead-acid batteries

No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking

Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and eye protection Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Disconnect ground cable of battery

2.1 Remove the control and display unit with control module

With Code (352a) COMAND control and display system

2.2 Remove radio

-

Except Code (352a) COMAND control and display system

Remove stowage compartment below radio

Except Code (352a) COMAND control and display system

Remove lower section of instrument panel

NOTE:  Passenger side.

Remove Bowden cable for ignition lock (1) from electronic selector lever module control module (N15/5)

NOTE:  Push locating tab (1b) together and press coupling (1c) against the spring load into the electronic selector lever module control module
(N15/5), turn through 90 degrees (to left or right) and detach Bowden cable for ignition lock (1).

Slide damping (3) upwards

NOTE:  Expose Bowden cable for ignition lock (1) and electric cable (2) to automatic air conditioning control module (couplings-pole).

Unscrew bolts (4)

NOTE:  Three screws.
