Ignition Lock Cable: Service and Repair

Removing and installing ignition lock control cable

Removing, installing

Disconnect ground cable of battery

Remove ashtray at front of center console

Remove bottom section of instrument panel on driver's side

Press locking tabs (1a) together and push ignition lock cable (1) out of ignition/starter switch (N73) in the direction of the arrow

CAUTION:  Installation: Turn ignition lock to position "O".
Function test:
-

It must only be possible to move the selector lever out of position "P" when the ignition lock is in position "2" and the brake pedal is
depressed.

It must only be possible to withdraw the ignition key when the ignition lock is in position "2".

Unclip ignition lock cable (1) from electronic selector lever module (N15/5)

NOTE:  Press locking tab (1b), twist coupling (1c) through 90 degrees in the direction of the arrow and pull off ignition lock cable (1).

Remove ignition lock cable (1) from dashboard

Install in the reverse order
