Remove Install Poly V-belt Of Compressor

Remove viscous fan clutch (26)
-

Vehicles fitted with viscous fan clutch

2.1 Remove fan shroud

-

Vehicles fitted with fan shroud

2.2 Remove electric fan

-

Vehicles fitted with electric fan

Slacken poly V-belt (10)

-

Swivel tensioning arm (2) together with tensioning pulley (3) at stud bolt (4, external torx E10) in counter-clockwise direction for this step.

See "Special Tool" given below.

CAUTION:  Do not swivel tensioning arm (2) at the nut attaching the tensioning pulley.

Take off poly V-belt (10)

Inspect belt pulley sections and tensioning device for damage and dirt.

Inspect poly V-belt (10)

NOTE:  For damage patterns refer to: i Inspect poly V-belt for wear and damage.

Fit on poly V-belt (10), tension

NOTE:  Do not use belt wax or similar products. In numerical order of the relevant running diagram, beginning at the tensioning pulley Poly
V-belt running diagram

Dimensions of poly V-belt.
-

Length of belt of Compressor Drive - 1330 N.m

-

Length of belt of Compressor Drive (Engine 111.955 with AC compressor with power steering pump) - 1355 N.m

See "Special Tool" given below.

NOTE:  The position marking (B) visible from the underside of the engine, must be positioned within the working range (A). If this is not the
case, inspect the length of the poly V-belt and also the tensioning device
