General information on voice control
The individual functions of the driver information system are called up and operated via the voice control system (VCS [SBS]). The VCS is integrated
into the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3). The system can be controlled by voice by spelling out or entering complete words.
Operating instructions
The voice control is activated or deactivated via the VCS [SBS] switch (S93/2) on the right of the steering column tube module (N80).
Voice control function sequence
The control signals of the VCS [SBS] switch are forwarded over the following components to the COMAND controller unit:
-
Direct line
-
Steering column tube module
-
Interior CAN
The voice input takes place via the associated hands-free system microphone group, which is connected to the COMAND controller unit via a direct line.
The words spoken into the hands-free system microphone group are converted into an electrical signal and forwarded to the COMAND controller unit.
The voice output in vehicles with code (810) Sound system, takes place in the following way:

lines.
