Malfunction Lamp / Indicator: Description and Operation
System Readiness Indicator Lamp
The system readiness indicator is an instrument cluster mounted lamp that will momentarily illuminate whenever the ignition switch is turned from the
OFF position to the RUN position if the air bag system is functioning properly. If the system is not functioning properly, the lamp will either fail to
illuminate, stay on continuously, or illuminate in a flashing mode (if a system fault exists and the lamp is malfunctioning, a warning tone will be heard
indicating the need for service). If a fault occurs after prove out, the lamp will either illuminate continuously or in a coded flashing mode.
