Hose/Line HVAC: Service and Repair
A/C Discharge Hose/Line
NOTE: Whenever a refrigerant line is replaced, it will be necessary to replace the suction accumulator/drier.
Removal
1. Discharge the refrigerant from the A/C system at the low-pressure access gauge port valve located on the suction line near the A/C compressor
following recommended service procedure. Observe all safety precautions.
2. Disconnect and remove the A/C compressor to condenser discharge line at the A/C condenser core, evaporator and A/C manifold and tube using
the disconnect procedure for spring lock couplings.
Installation
1. Route the new refrigerant line with the protective caps installed (as in the following illustrations).
2. Connect the refrigerant line into the system using new O-ring seals lubricated with clean specified refrigerant oil. All connections are spring locks.
Follow the procedure for connecting spring lock couplings.
3. Leak test, evacuate and charge the refrigerant system following the recommended procedures and safety precautions.
