Brake Caliper: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
3. Mark the front disc brake caliper to ensure it is installed on the correct front wheel knuckle.
4. Remove the banjo bolt and copper washer. Discard the copper washer.

5. Use a Torx(R) T40 bit to remove the two brake caliper bolts.
6. Remove the front disc brake caliper from the front disc brake rotor.
INSTALLATION
1. Use a C-clamp and a used brake shoe and lining to retract the caliper piston fully in the piston bore. Install the front disc brake caliper over the
front disc brake rotor with a rotating motion. Ensure that the inboard and outboard front brake shoes and linings are properly positioned.
NOTE: Ensure that the correct front disc brake caliper, as marked during removal, is installed on the correct front wheel knuckle. The bleeder
screw should be positioned on the top of the front disc brake caliper when installed on the vehicle.
