9. NOTE:  Measure and record the distance from the end of the shaft to the dynamic damper for reference during reassembly. 

Remove the dynamic damper.

Using the special tool, remove the clamps from the dynamic damper.

Remove the dynamic damper.

10. CAUTION:  If removing the boot, tape the splines to protect the boot. 

If necessary, remove the front wheel halfshaft joint boot from the halfshaft.

Assembly 

CAUTION:  The inboard and outboard front wheel halfshaft joint boots are different. Failure to correctly install the front wheel halfshaft boot on the
correct front wheel halfshaft joint could lead to premature front wheel halfshaft joint boot and joint wear.

1. Place the small boot clamp over the front wheel drive halfshaft.
2. Place the large boot clamp over the front wheel drive halfshaft joint.
3. Slide the halfshaft boot onto the halfshaft and remove the tape from the splines.

4. Using the recorded measurement, install the dynamic damper.

Install the dynamic damper.

Install new dynamic damper retainer bands, using pliers to pull the retainer bands tight and bend the locking tabs to secure the bands.

5. Position the C-clip on the halfshaft past the recess.
