BASIC IDLE SPEED ADJUSTMENT
NOTE
^ The standard idling speed has been adjusted, by the speed-adjusting screw (SAS), by the manufacturer, and there should usually be no need for
readjustment.
^ The adjustment, if made, should be made after first confirming that the spark plugs, the injectors, the idle- speed control servo, the compression
pressure, etc. are all normal.
(1) The vehicle should be prepared as follows before the inspection and adjustment.
^ Engine coolant temperature: 85 - 95°C (185 - 2O5°F)
^ Lights and accessories: OFF
^ Transmission: neutral (P for vehicles with automatic transmission)
^ Steering wheel: neutral position
(2) If the multi-use tester is used, connect it to the diagnosis connector.
