Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair
1. Remove transmission assembly, then remove outer adapter plate and driveplate.
2. Remove driveplate to output flange adapter, then remove oil seal from engine as follows:
a. Cut out a small portion of crankshaft oil seal lip.
b. Cover tip of a suitable screwdriver with a cloth, then insert into seal cutout and pry away from engine.
3. Reverse procedure to install. Drive seal in using seal installation tool No. MD998718-01, or equivalent.
