STEP 7. Check the ignition key hole illumination light.

1. Remove the driver's under cover.
2. Remove the lower and upper column covers.
3. Disconnect wiring connector D-16 from the key reminder switch and measure at the switch side.

4. Check the continuity between terminal numbers 1 and 2.

If there is no continuity between terminal numbers 1 and 2, replace the ignition key hole illumination light. 
Check that the malfunction is eliminated.
If there is continuity between terminal numbers 1 and 2, go to Step 8.

STEP 8. Check the power supply for the ignition key hole illumination light.

1. Disconnect key reminder switch connector D-16 and measure at the harness side.
2. Measure the voltage between terminal number 1 and ground.

Voltage should be approximately 12 volts  battery positive voltage.
If not approximately 12 volts, go to Step 9.
If approximately 12 volts, go to Step 10.

STEP 9. Check harness connector D-16 at the key reminder switch for damage.

If harness connector D-16 is damaged, repair or replace it.
