DOOR SILL PAINT CHIPPING OR PEELING
PURPOSE
Repeated driver or passenger foot scraping on the front or rear door sill may cause paint chipping or peeling. After repairing the paint, apply a special
protective film (listed in the PARTS INFORMATION section of this bulletin) to the door sill to prevent future paint damage.
Vehicles produced after 10/7/00 are equipped with factory-applied protective film on the door sills.

PROCEDURE
1.
After repairing the door sill paint, allow the paint to air dry for 24 hours. Or, if the paint has been baked after repair, allow to air dry for 3 hours
after baking.
2.
Prepare a solution of 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and water in a spray bottle. Generously spray the solution onto the door sill and onto the adhesive
side of the protective film.
3.
Apply the protective film to the door sill (plastic cladding) area, positioning the film over the edge of the sill as shown. Use a small squeegee to
remove air bubbles and excess spray solution.
