Sunroof - Will Tilt but Won't Slide

SENTRA/2OOSX SUNROOF LIFTER MECHANISM ADJUSTMENT

SERVICE INFORMATION

If the sunroof will lift upward into the "tilt" position but will not slide to the rear, this may be caused by improper adjustment of the "foot" at the rear of
the lifter mechanism, or improper placement of the sunroof panel on the lifter mechanism. Use the following procedure to ensure correct sunroof
adjustment and operation.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Perform steps 1 through 6 with the sunroof in the "tilt position.

1.

Un-snap and remove the right and left hand plastic side covers. (These cover the bolts that hold the glass in position).

2.

Remove the bolts that secure the glass. There are three bolts on the left hand side and three bolts on the right hand side.

3.

Remove and set aside the glass panel.

4.

If any rearward movement is possible on either side of the sunroof mechanism, pull the lifter arm forward until it clicks.

5.

Activate the sunroof switch and run the sunroof track to the full open position.

8.

Using a 2.5 mm Alien wrench, loosen the lifter mechanism "foot" at the rear of the lifter and slide forward as shown in Figure 3.
