Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
CAUTION:
The rotating direction in the text indicates all directions seen from the engine front.
1. Remove front fender protector (RH). See: Body and Frame/Fender/Front Fender/Front Fender Liner/Service and Repair/Exploded View.
2. Drain engine oil. See: Engine Lubrication/Engine Oil/Service and Repair/Draining.
CAUTION:
Perform this step when engine is cold.
3. Remove the following parts:

Intake manifold: See: Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Exploded View.

Rocker cover: See: Powertrain Management/Ignition System/Ignition Coil/Service and Repair/Exploded View.

Drive belt: See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal And
Installation.

Ground cable (between front cover and radiator core support)
4. Set No. 1 cylinder at TDC on its compression stroke with the following procedure:
C : White paint mark (Not use for service)
a. Rotate crankshaft pulley (1) clockwise and align TDC mark (no paint) (B) to timing indicator (A) on front cover.
