If axial end play is not within specified limits, select another snap ring, and re-check the limits.

If the axial end play of either front axle is out of specification, then make sure the bearing races for the tapered roller wheel bearings are fully
seated in the hub.  If they are not, seat them carefully. Otherwise, they will seat themselves and make a further change in the axial end play of the
front axle, which may cause damage to the hub brakes.

Road test the vehicle to make sure the noise is eliminated from the hubs.
