Install new idler gear using suitable tool.

6.

Install new output gear.

CAUTION: Seal rings of the output gear must be well lubricated with petroleum jelly prior to installation of output gear.

7.

Install new taper roller bearings and set the preload with proper shims using the procedure in the appropriate Service Manual.

8.

Install side cover and gasket.

NOTE:

On 1986 Stanza Wagon vehicles built before the VIN below, install a new side cover (P/N 31391-21X02).
