SERVICE INFORMATION

Some 1985-1987 Maxima vehicles equipped with a manual transaxle may exhibit poor clutch release which results in difficult shifting. An inspection of
the clutch operating cylinder tube may reveal a pin hole fluid leak near the brazed bracket joint. A new cylinder tube assembly with a rubber insulated
joint at the bracket is now available to reduce this incident.

Cylinder Tube Assembly

Install the new cylinder tube assembly using care to avoid kinking the tube. The special cylinder tube installation procedures described in Technical
Bulletin TM86-006 are not necessary with the new clutch tube. Therefore, disregard Technical Bulletin TM86-006.
