Heater Core: Service and Repair

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable, place temperature control in HOT position, and drain cooling system.

2.

Disconnect heater hoses at firewall connections, taking care not to damage heater tubes.

3.

Remove instrument panel assembly, Fig. 11.

4.

Remove A/C-heater control as follows:

a. Remove lower dash panels.
b. Disconnect control cables at heater case and disconnect wiring harness connectors to control.
c. Pull off control knobs, pull control face plate away from dash, and remove face plate after disconnecting wiring harness connector to lighter.
