1.
Drain approximately 2/3 of brake fluid from master cylinder assembly.
2.
Raise and support vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly.
3.
Loosen tension on parking brake cable at equalizer.
4.
Remove cable clip from parking brake lever, disconnect cable, then remove spring, Fig. 2.
5.
Hold parking brake lever, loosen nut, then remove nut, lever, seal and washer.
6.
If caliper is to be serviced, remove fluid line bolt, then disconnect and plug fluid line. If only shoe and lining assemblies are to be replaced, do not
disconnect brake line.
7.
Remove caliper mounting bolts, then lift caliper from bracket. If only shoe and lining assemblies are being replaced, suspend caliper from chassis
with suitable hanger. Do not allow caliper to hang from brake hose.
8.
Remove insulators from caliper bracket, if equipped.
