Apply a V16" bead of Permatex Ultra Copper, P/N 101B, Item No. 81878 OR Ultra Blue, P/N 77B, Item No. 81724 to each corner of the numbers
1 and 5 camshaft bearing caps (3).
NOTE:
The new valve cover gasket, P/N 0249.74, must be installed dry and without any trace of oil.

Place the new gasket in tbe valve cover channel.

Reinstall the valve cover.

Torque all bolts in the sequence shown to 13 N-m (115 in.lbs.).

Start the engine and let it idle for ten minutes with hood closed.
NOTE:
Visually check for oil leaks. If any are detected, do not attempt to increase the tightness of the bolts. Remove the valve cover and determine the exact
cause. Upon correction of the leak, proceed with the reinstallation of the valve cover and tighten as indicated.
