Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the nuts in order to retain the spoiler to the rear compartment lid.
Tighten the nuts to 8 N.m (66 lb in).
5. Install the caps over the outboard spoiler studs.
Important: Install the rear spoiler winglets in an environment that is free from dust or other dirt that could come into contact with the
adhesive backing. Foreign material may cause improper adhesion.
6. Clean the area where the winglets will be installed. Use a lint-free cloth and Varnish Makers and Painters (VMP) naphtha, or a 50/50 mixture by
volume of isopropyl alcohol and water.
7. Use a J 25070 to heat the mounting surface to approximately 27-41°C (80-105°F).
Important: Ensure that the temperature of the rear spoiler winglet is approximately 29-32°C (85-90°F).
8. Remove the protective liner from the back of the winglet.
9. Position the winglet to the body panel. Press the winglet to the mounting surface.
Important: Apply equal pressure on the winglet to uniformly bond the winglet to the mounting surface.
10. Remove the protective tape from the mounting surface.
