Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement (LZ4, LZ9) (3.5L, 3.9L)

Special Tools

J 44586  Power Steering Gear Oil Seal Remover/Installer

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement   (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake

Manifold/Service and Repair) for 3.5L engine or Intake Manifold Cover Replacement   (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake
Manifold/Service and Repair) for 3.9L engine.

2. Remove the drive belt from the vehicle. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement   () for the 3.5L engine or Drive Belt Replacement (Coupe)   (See:

3. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (LY7)   (See: Power Steering Pump/Service and

4. Remove the drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement   (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts,

Brackets and Accessories/Idler Pulley/Service and Repair) for 3.5L engine or Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement   (See: Engine, Cooling and
Exhaust/Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Idler Pulley/Service and Repair) for 3.9L engine.

5. Remove the 3 bolts (1) and the front engine lift bracket (2).
