Forward Servo Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Install the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Engine Support Fixture).
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
3. Remove and support the power steering gear. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement (Electronic Power Steering) (See: Steering and
Suspension/Steering/Steering Gear/Service and Repair)Steering Gear Replacement (Hydraulic Power Steering LY7) (See: Steering and

4. Remove the left transaxle mount lower nuts. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement - Left Side (Sedan/Coupe) (See: Transmission

5. Remove the rear transaxle mount bracket lower nuts. Refer to Transmission Rear Mount Bracket Replacement (See: Transmission Mount/Service
and Repair/4T65-E - Automatic Transmission/Transmission Rear Mount Bracket Replacement).
6. Remove the engine mount lower nuts. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement (Coupe) (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Drive Belts,
Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Engine Mount/Service and Repair)Engine Mount Replacement (Convertible) (See: Engine, Cooling and
Exhaust/Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Engine Mount/Service and Repair).
7. Remove the power steering lines from the right side of the frame.
8. Support the rear of the frame with a jackstand.
9. Loosen the front frame bolts and remove the rear frame bolts. Refer to Frame Replacement (Convertible) (See: Body and

10. Adjust the jackstand to lower the rear of the frame.
11. Position a drain pan under the forward servo cover.
12. Remove the servo cover bolts.
13. Remove the forward servo cover.
14. Remove the forward servo cover O-ring.
15. Remove the servo piston assembly.
16. Remove the servo spring.
