Grand Prix V6-191 3.1L VIN M SFI (1998)
1. Install the left (front) exhaust manifold gasket.
2. Install the left (front) exhaust manifold.
3. Install the left (front) exhaust manifold nuts.

Tighten the left (front) exhaust manifold nuts to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the left (front) exhaust manifold heat shield.
5. Install the left (front) exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.

Tighten the left (front) exhaust manifold heat shield bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
6. Install the exhaust crossover pipe bolts to the left (front) exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Crossover Replacement.
7. Install the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Crossover Replacement.
8. Install the thermostat bypass pipe. Refer to Thermostat Bypass Pipes Replacement in Thermostate, Enging Cooling.
9. Install the automatic transaxle vacuum modulator pipe. Refer to Vacuum Modulator Pipe Replacement in Automatic Transmission/Transaxle.
10. Connect the radiator inlet hose to the engine. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement - Inlet in Cooling System.
11. Install the right engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement (Right Side).
12. Fill the cooling system with engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
13. Install the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Powertrain Management.
14. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Starting and Charging.
