5. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Install the 4 retaining nuts (2) on the selector lever assembly.
Tighten the retaining nuts to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
6. Slide the trunnion (6), sleeve (5) and insulator (4) on the end of the selector linkage.
7. Loosely install the shift linkage adjusting bolt (1) and the washers on the selector lever (8).
8. Ensure that the transmission and the selector lever assembly are both in the Park position.
9. Tighten the shift linkage adjusting bolt (1).
Tighten the retaining nuts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
10. lower the vehicle.
11. Install the front console trim plate.
12. Enable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system.
