Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft Pulley: Procedures

Removing and installing belt pulley/vibration damper-engine installed

Preliminary work - engine installed 

Preliminary work for removing belt pulley/vibration damper-engine installed 

Note:  To remove and install the engine lid on the 3.8L engine, the help of a second person is required.

1. 3.8L engine only :Remove engine lid.
2. Remove air cleaner housing.
3. Release drive belt

Removing vibration damper (3.8L) - engine installed 

Note:  To release and tighten the belt pulley, a second person must counter with the relevant retaining tool.

Component overview

1. Keep turning the vibration damper clockwise until the special tool holding wrench 9732 can be inserted vertically into the fixing bores of the

damper.

2. Position a large torque wrench with a socket wrench insert (a/f 24) on the fastening screw.
