2. Mount the gear lever in a vice.
3. Attach tape around the carrier, directly under the knob, to prevent it being damaged or scratched when it is being removed.
4. Place a 32 mm open-ended spanner under the edge of the knob. Carefully tap the hammer from underneath using a hammer. Lift off the knob and

carrier.

5. Remove the tape. Remove the knob from the carder by using a small screwdriver to press in the three plastic lugs on the carrier (located under the

numbers 1, 5 and 4 on the knob). Note the steel spring under the knob.

IMPORTANT:   A gear lever knob which has been removed must not be refitted but replaced with a new one.

To Fit

1. Check that the ball socket ring is on the gear lever.

2. Insert the spring into the carrier.
3. Check that the stop lug is turned to the right when the numbers on the knob are correctly positioned and then press the knob onto the carrier.
4. Check that the gaiter is on the carrier.
