Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair
Oxygen Sensors After the Catalytic Converter

To Remove

1. Unplug the connector from the sensor that is to be removed.

592Rb = Rear heated oxygen sensor, cylinder bank 1

^

593R = Rear heated oxygen sensor, cylinder bank 2

2. Before removing the wiring, note how the leads are run and where the cable ties, if any, are located.
3. Raise the car.
4. Prise apart the joint in the exhaust system for better accessibility but not too much as the flexible sections could break.
5. Remove the sensor.

To Fit 

Before refitting, lubricate the sensor with MOLYCOTE 1000 or the equivalent. 

Tightening torque: 55 Nm (40 ft lbs). 

Fit in reverse order
