taken. Such precautions should be designed to prevent the wheels from touching the floor or coming into contact with any loose equipment on the
floor.
To ensure that the test is performed correctly, the engine should be running and a gear should be engaged.

Action
1
Check that the speedometer is in proper working order. If it is not, unplug its 2-pin connector and check the signal from the speed sensor or the
gearbox. Use a multimeter set to the DC range. It should give a reading of 0 to 6v as speed increases.
2
Check whether other units that use speed pulses are working properly. If they are, the fault must be in the cable or the, EDU control module. If
they are not, check whether pin 1 of the speedometer is live and whether pin 3 is grounded when the ignition is switched on (3-pin connector on
the speedometer).
3
Check the speed pulses at either the speedometer (pin 2) or the EDU control module (pin 9) with the engine running and the driven wheels either
rotating or stationary. To achieve this, apply the foot brake to stop the drivenwheels, then release the brake pedal and let the driven wheels rotate
again. Repeat this procedure until a reading is obtained. The reading should be either 0 or 12v DC when the wheels are stationary, depending on
the position in which the sensor has stopped, and 6v when the wheels are rotating.
4
If the speed pulses at the EDU control module are correct, try another EDU.
