Evaporator Core: Service and Repair
Installation
1. Position the evaporator in the climate control unit. Lubricate the upper part of the evaporator with vaseline, if necessary.
2. Install new 0-rings on the pipe connections from the evaporator. Lubricate the 0-rings with synthetic vaseline.
3. Refit the expansion valve or the block.
4. Tighten the screws securing the expansion valve or block. Tightening torque, expansion valve: 5 Nm (3.7 ft lb). Tightening torque, block: 20 Nm
(14.8 ft lb).
5. Tighten the screw in the engine bay which secures the A/C pipes' PAD connection to the expansion valve or the block. Tightening torque,
expansion valve: 5 Nm (3.7 ft lb). Tightening torque, block: 20 Nm (14.8 ft lb).
6. Connect the anti-freeze thermostat's sensor to the low-pressure pipe, using the clip.
