Parking Brake Front Cable Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement   (See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and

Repair).

2. Remove the adjusting nut (1) from the parking brake cable.
3. Hold the parking brake cable with the pliers at the bottom end of the threaded studs (3) and release from the cable guide if necessary.
4. Remove the front exhaust pipe and the mid muffler. Refer to Mid Muffler Replacement   (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Exhaust

System/Muffler/Service and Repair)

5. Remove the heat shield of the mid muffler from the vehicle underbody.

Remove the 7 nuts (4).

6. Turn the front end of the parking brake cables (6) 90 degrees and remove from the parking brake cable compensator.
