Drive Belt: Service and Repair

DRIVE BELT 

REPLACEMENT 

1. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

a. Loosen bolts A and B.
b. Release the V-ribbed belt tension and remove the V-ribbed belt.

2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH 

3. REMOVE VANE PUMP V BELT

a. Loosen bolts A and B.
b. Release the V-ribbed belt tension, and remove the V-ribbed belt.

4. INSTALL VANE PUMP V BELT

a. Temporarily install the V-ribbed belt on each pulley.

5. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

a. Temporarily install the V-ribbed belt on each pulley.

6. ADJUST FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

a. Insert the adjusting bar between the engine RH mount bracket and generator. Push the bar towards the vehicle front to adjust the V-ribbed belt

tension.

NOTICE:  Do not insert the bar between the oil control valve and generator. It could damage the oil control valve.
