Securing gearbox to assembly stand > < checking and completing

–  Raise the vehicle.
   
–  Loosen bolts/quick release fasteners -1- and -2- and remove front soundproofing -A-.
–  If fitted, loosen quick release fasteners -3- and remove rear noise insulation -B-.
–  Place below the collecting tray -T20173-.

–  Remove oil filler plug -arrow-.
–  Remove the oil drain plug → Item and drain the gearbox oil.
–  Screw the oil drain plug in and tighten at the appropriate tightening torque → Item.
  Note
t  Oil level is correct when the oil reaches the bottom edge of filling hole.
t  The material of the plug depends on the material of the gearbox housing. Allocation of the corresponding bolt →  Spare parts catalogue.

–  Fill with gear oil up to edge of housing -arrow-.
Specifications for the gearbox oil → Chapter.
–  Screw in oil filler plug.
–  Start engine, engage gear and allow gearbox to run for approx. 2 minutes.
–  Switch off engine and remove oil filler plug.
Once more, fill with gear oil up to edge of housing -arrow-.
–  Screw in the oil filler plug and tighten to 45 Nm.

–  Install the front soundproofing -A- and tighten or close the screws or quick release fasteners -1- and -2-.
–  Where installed, install the rear soundproofing -B- and close the quick release fasteners -3-.
