Gearbox support: dismounting and assembly Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Socket -U 30025E -, see equivalent → Anchor   Note t  Cleaning norms when working in the gearbox → Chapter. t  General repair instructions. → Chapter   Note All cable clamps that become loose or cut when removing must be re-installed in the same place when installing. –  Put the gear selector lever into position „P“. –  Remove engine cover → Booklet101. –  Remove the air filter body, breather hose and air duct hoses → Rep. gr.24 and → Rep. gr.23 .

Gearbox support: dismounting –  Remove cover -1- above the battery. To do this press the release tab -arrow-.   WARNING Take all measures concerning the disconnection of the battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr. 27.

–  Disconnect battery earth strap-arrow-with the ignition switched off. –  Remove battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.

–  Remove battery tray -arrows-.

–  Fit the engine and gearbox support -U 30025E- on bolted flange for wing panels. –  Hook the spindles of the support equipment into the suspension rings on the engine. –  Pre-tension engine with both spindles uniformly and without raising it.

–  Unscrew the bolts -2- surrounding the gearbox console -A- from the gearbox support.

–  Dismount all the necessary pieces to obtain access to the bolts -1-. –  Remove bolts -1-. –  Remove the gearbox support -A-. Gearbox support: assembly Installation is carried out in reverse order. The following must be taken into account:

1)  Renew bolts 2)  90º is equivalent to a quarter turn. –  Pull the gearbox upwards, towards the leg of the support, with the help of the securing tool.   WARNING Before screwing in the bolts for the gearbox support it is essential that the support and the console are in a perfectly parallel position relative to each other; otherwise the threads will be damaged. If required, raise the rear part of the gearbox using a jack for handling.

3)  Renew bolts 4)  90º is equivalent to a quarter turn.   Note Fit the power train support without tension → Engine, mechanics; Rep. gr.10.   WARNING Only remove the support tool -U 30025E- after tightening all of the left and right hand side bolts on the subframe to the specified torque.
