Installation is carried out in reverse order. The following must be taken into account:
  WARNING
t  Observe the safety precautions for working on airbags → Chapter.
t  Before handling airbag units (for example to attach the connector), the person concerned must „discharge static“, for example by briefly grasping hold of door striker plate.
–  Install removed driver seat height adjustment motor -V245- or passenger seat height adjustment motor -V246- into new seat frame → Chapter.
–  Install removed driver seat height adjustment motor -V243- or passenger seat height adjustment motor -V244- into new lower seat frame → Chapter.
–  Install spring mat with cable harness into upper seat frame → Chapter.
   
–  Take care not to damage sockets -1- in course of further assembly work.
  Caution
t  When separating or assembling upper and lower seat pan frame, take care not to damage the sockets -1- inserted in all mounting points.
t  The sockets cannot be renewed with the equipment available to workshops.
t  The corresponding assembly elements must be renewed if the sockets are damaged.
  Note
Make sure electrical connectors are correctly fitted and engage with a click.
–  switch ignition on.
  WARNING
The battery must be connected with the ignition switched on. If pyrotechnic components (e.g. airbag or belt tensioner) are inexpertly repaired, this may result in unwanted triggering after connecting the battery. There must not be anyone in the vehicle while you are connecting the battery.
–  Connect battery earth wire with ignition switched on → Rep. gr.27.
–  If the airbag warning lamp -K75- indicates a fault, use the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 505X- to read-out, erase and then re-read the fault memory.
